Dirty Diggers

Band,
Hip-Hop/Rap

The two-man crew consists of Young Max & Pat Stash based in Yorkshire and East London respectively. Both make beats, both rhyme – both offer a breath of fresh air to our scene, incorporating intricate and intelligent word play over some amazing music. The Diggers’ demo landed on the desk at Zebra Traffic HQ, head & shoulders above the rest. A week later it was being played out on CDR by Robert Luis in his sets all over the country – it fast became the most asked after track he has ever played out. So the decision to commit it to wax was a done deal…Their debut release ‘Diggers Don’t Get Days Off EP’ features 4 vocal tracks and 2 instrumentals, covering a wide range of influences, and including a summer banger in ‘Ask Why?’ (Check the video on the promo CD – filmed entirely on location in Brighton on a blazing hot Brighton day!). A club banger in ‘For The Haters’ that works around a wild drum break and an incessant keyboard line. An uptempo & intense percussive number in ‘Live From The Headroom’ and a straight up tough hip hop headnodder in ‘Same Old’… Long time friend and cohort DJ Excalibah (BBC Radio 1xtra) has been supporting the Diggers for some time now on his ‘Tales From The Legend’ Show, long before the guys had any interest from a label, this lead to Rodney P hearing the music and calling up the Diggers direct to get the music…UK Hip Hop oracle Disorda has also been in touch with the label, asking after the Diggers, due to an untold level of public interest in them, through his Suspect Packages website. Zebra Traffic has even had enough gig interest to put together a small tour for a group that have yet to actually release any music…rest assured that the Dirty Diggers are here to stay and, of course, thankfully it doesn’t look like they will be having any time off in the near future…
