Electronic and Rock (Alternative Rock, Dark Ambient, Darkwave, Ethereal)
"Dust Devils", the second album by darkwave/dreamfolk duo Dismal Beeches, is a sonic reflection upon the concept of the desert. The album starts with a revelatory experience of a hermit who hears the voice of a primal god speaking through the rocks and the sands. It takes us through the insane sacrifices of religious fanatics on a zealous crusade after an illusory reward. This is followed by a sure promise of the desert's wrath against the people sunk in hebetude, which will bring about a dreadful devastation. It reveals a horrendous picture of the scorched, post-apocalyptic earth. Finally, it shows us the world through the eyes of a lonely wayfarer walking through the eternal night. Take a deep breath. The journey begins.
