These four sides are the only ones ever recorded by the Dixie Jassers Washboard Band as such, for it was a studio band, a wonderfully informal affair consisting of musicians who all knew each other well, who had recorded together in various other groups, and who in this solitary session combined the "grass-roots" kind of Country jazz with the more sophisticated urban variety
