Jazz, Folk, World and (African, Fusion, Indian Classical)
Djolé (Jo-lay) is the word the Mandinka people of West Africa use to describe the joy of life... ~ We formed as a group in September 1993,and are based in Vicroria,B.C. Our musical instruments and styles come from West Africa, North India, Brazil and North America. Using traditional melodies on the West African kora and ancient rhythm cycles on the tabla, we attempt to create a timeless sound interwoven with jazz influences.
