Musician of Country
A.k.a. Walden "Don" Whytsell
(1909 - 2005) American country - bluegrass musician (guitar). Using the name Don White, he was a member of the Blue Ridge Mountaineers before joining the legendary Briarhoppers on WBT radio in Charlotte in 1935. He recorded for RCA Victor in 1936 and remained a Briarhopper until 1939. In the early 1940s he was a member of The Tennessee Ramblers and in 1946 he and his band Don White and the Sage Riders were signed as cast members of the National Barn Dance on radio WLS in Chicago. He stayed at WLS until 1952.
