B: April 17, 1934 - Bronx, New York D: January 17, 2011 - Boca Raton, Florida American songwriter, Publisher (Don Kirshner Music, Inc.), music producer and artist manager. Years active: 1958 to 1982. Recipient of Songwriters Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award in 2007. Co-owner of Aldon Music with partner, Al Nevins working out of the offices of the famed Brill Building, in New York's Times Square, launching the careers of Bobby Darin, Tony Orlando, Carole King, Neil Diamond,among others and creating the music for TV acts, Monkees and The Archies. Owned 3 record labels: Chairman, Calendar Records and Kirshner. Executive producer in 1972 for ABC's "In Concert" and then creating his own live concert show entitled, "Don Kirshner's Rock Concert", which aired on Saturday late night's over the NBC-TV network from 1973 to 1981.
