Donella del Monaco's introduction to the album: "Shakespeare Ballet began as ballet music, following a project conceived together with the Arena Ballet of Verona ("The Venetian Dream of Shakespeare", 2005 season) that was dedicated to the Shakespearean works set in the Veneto region ("The Taming of the Shrew" in Padua, "Romeo and Juliet" in Verona, and "Othello" in Venice). The musical elaboration is based on many techniques, not only from a compositional point of view, and it is enriched by electronic sonorities, computer elaborations and guided instrumental improvisations. I have re-elaborated the work of many creative interpreters, including pieces by musicians of the Opus Avantra ensemble." Digipack CD.
