Recorded on the night of December 21, 1958, in Houston, Texas. Release date was set for mid-february 1959, but J.P. Richardson aka the Big Bopper died on Feb. 3rd in a plane crash together with Ritchie Valens and Buddy Holly. After some hesitation, Dart Records decided to release it in memory of the Bopper. J.P. Richardson voice appears at the end of the B Side only.
