Cellist Dorothea von Albrecht studied with Christoph Henkel and William Pleeth. She is an "Associate of the Royal College of Music", London and Scholarship holder and award winner at various competitions. She took Master and chamber music courses with Janós Starker, Miklos Pérényi, Boris Pergamenschikov, Siegfried Palm, András Schiff, and Bruno Canino, among others. Her performance credits include participation as a soloist and chamber musician, at the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Venice Biennale, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Salzburg Festival, and the Spring Festival of St. Petersburg. In the Banff Center for the Arts (Canada), she began to work on improvisation, inspired by encounters with musicians from other cultures, and she has recorded, notably for Vienna Modern Masters, specializing in "new music".
