Hip-Hop/Rap and Rock
Dreadline was formed in February 1999. All five members have previously played in other bands of various genres, sometimes together. After several months of "material collection" dread line excelled in the regional clubs in the Rhine-Main area with its "mix of deeply oppressive guitar riffs and groovy experimental drum beats, coupled with the omnipresent low frequencies" (quote Kick `n Roll Magazine) and vocals moving between emotional extremes. This results in a style that can best be labelled "new metal" and is referred to by the band itself as "lowend-core". The next two years, Dreadline played concerts in numerous local clubs like Batschkapp, gullies, Nightlife, MTW, port railway or also in the city hall Langen, as well as some open-air festivals, including for example the "Sound of Frankfurt". The 4-track debut "Frenulum" was released in May 2000. During the same year, a 2nd place in the rock competition of the 1822 savings and a 1st place at the 16th Nidderauer Band Contest was reached. The following year, the band reached #1 in various Internet charts (BeSonic, Virtual Volume). In late 2001, vocalist Pet left the band. Six months later, Dreadline found a successor, Dimi. The band recorded a new album ("Starting to Sway") which got released in November 2002 in the club "o25" (Ffm).
