Musician of Folk and Jazz
Hungarian Tenor/soprano saxophone, recorder, flute and bass clarinet player, active in the current Budapest folk and jazz music scene. He is notable for merging the american free-jazz tradition with elements from Hungarian folk music. He studied to be an engineer when he turned to jazz, starting out with the Károly Binder Quartet. He formed his first quartet (Dresch Quartet) in 1984 and has performed at jazz festivals worldwide. He played and recorded with important artists such as John Tchicai, Archie Shepp, Roscoe Mitchell, Chico Freeman, David Murray, and Dewey Redman. He is also a permanent member of György Szabados's MAKUZ Ensemble.
