Out February 27th 2015 Influenced by the vibes of DJ Krush, Nightmares On Wax and Lee "Scratch" Perry, Philadelphia born producer Drew Anthony creates a sensory experience with every carefully-crafted track. Inspired by living in the city and the culture of the music, Drew's sound can be be described as deep, raw and unique. Now residing in Miami, Drew continues to hone his sound, working relentlessly until his goal of international recognition is achieved. The Envious EP from Drew's Theory delivers five tracks of roots music oriented dubstep, pushing the low end deep into the of the earth while simultaneously expanding the depth of perception of sound. "Layers" unfolds into dangerous territory, revealing a menacing tone over a hardened hiphop beat. "Impact" is raw and spacious, emphasizing the most minimal of vibes. "Instructions" draws from the golden ages of both downtempo and dubstep, gently lulling the listener with it's warm bass and DJ Shadow-eque vocal chops. "Raw Function" from Drew and Arta plays as the perfect soundtrack to a smokey Amsterdam cafe. The titled track "Envious" continues with the dark and mysterious theme that pervades the EP overall, with bass growls and synth stabs that sound like the breathing of a busy city.
