Drift was formed in 1994, from members of belgrade hardcore and punk bands like URGH!, Ekstremisti and Acroholia. It's music was based on slow, heavy riffing and deep, guttural vocals, although acoustic guitars and the occassional flute could also be heard. Drift was trying to be the first proper doom metal band in Belgrade, reckoning that bands like Svarog were more punk than metal anyway. Drift had one album and four shows. It dissolved only to be ressurected as Vol Zero several years later. That band recorded one album, never released it and never played live.
