British actor, comedian, composer, and musician. Born: 19 April 1935 in Dagenham, Essex, UK. Died: 27 March 2002 in Plainfield, New Jersey, USA. Arguably one of the most influential artists of his generation, both in his musical career playing piano in the emerging modern jazz scene, but more especially in his acting and comedic career. His work with Peter Cook has often been cited and admired by comedic peers that followed.
