Romanian composer, teacher, choir conductor and folklorist ✰ March 6th, 1866, București, România ✞ January 8th, 1928, Wien, Austria Studied at Conservatory of Bucharest (1880 - 1885), then at the Conservatory of Paris . Starts the conducting activity at Romanian Chapel Choir of Paris (1894 - 1899). After returning home, founded choral Society "Carmen" and Carmen Chorus (1901 - 1928), whose director will be for nearly three decades At the same time directed the choir of New St. Spiridon, and choir of the Conservatory Bucharest (1900 - 1928). Was a founding member of the Society of Romanian Composers (1920), working in favor of setting up the folklore archives of the society
