A.k.a. Dunash ha-Levi ben Labrat - Hebrew: דוֹנָש הלוי בֵּן לָבְרָט; Arabic: دناش بن لبراط
Dunash Ben Labrat (born 920, Madinat Fas, Morocco; died 990 Córdoba, Al-Andalus, Caliphate of Córdoba) was a medieval Jewish poet, Hebrew grammarian, and polemicist in Muslim ruled Spain during the middle and late 10th century. He is considered the founder of Spanish Hebrew poetry and was the first Jewish poet to apply Arabic forms of poetry to Hebrew. Dunash wrote both secular poems and piyyutim (Jewish liturgical poetry), most of which are now lost. Two of his poems which are well known today are Dror Yikra, a Sabbath song still included in Jewish prayer books, and Dvai Hasair, which is still included in Jewish weddings. Both have been arranged and recorded repeatedly as Hebrew folksongs. Artists who have recorded Dror Yikra include Boaz Sharabi, The Amranim, HaParvarim and Dana International.
