EL-KA is the name of a musical cooperation of HaJo Liese (born 1957) and Till Kopper (born 1965) that started in February 2004. The name EL-KA was first used at the Electronic Breakfast of Schallwende e.V. in December 2004 in Düsseldorf. The name is a homage to the ELKA Rhapsody 610 string keyboard both enjoy very much, and a (german) play on the first letters of their family names. These sound if read L. K. the same as EL-KA. Their music of their CD releases is always a 2 or 4 track recording of full live concerts. No playback, no software sequencers used. Only the basic step sequencer pattern is programmed and then mangled and changed on the run.
