EaViL was a duo consisting of Edgar (vocals, lyrics and abstract noises) and Nick (music composition, projections, and visuals). Historical and psychological themes both personal and universal dominated their music. Early avant-garde and experimental shorts, the sky, architecture and squirrels were immense sources of inspiration. Paradox was a prominent variable, evident in the use of noise and melody, “dark” and “light” themes and conflicting moods. They participated in the Version 06 & 07, Select Media 05 and Artec Festivals. They performed on Chic-A-Go-Go and venues throughout Chicago including: Nihilist, Peter Jones Gallery, Empty Bottle, Enemy and Heaven Gallery. EaViL self released four EPS: Le Miroir, Phantasmic Seam, Ardilla Arias and Black Queen's Beads under their NERV imprint.
