Album ES 2014 on TruthTown Prod label
Reggae (Reggae, Dub)
Rec and Mix by Roberto Sanchez at A Lone Ark studio Released on 1st September 2014 For the second release of Truthtown Productions, we are proud to bring you the classic “Move The Barriers” song over a brand new riddim. On side A, you have the vocal version by the great Earl 16, followed by “Dub The Barriers“, mixed by Roberto Sánchez. On side B you will find an 8 minutes instrumental version, “Border War“, which includes melodica, sax, guitar & trumpet solos. This song was originally composed by an unnamed vocal trio who performed it in a Jack Ruby audition as can be seen in the “Deeper Roots” documentary (Part 6 “Ghetto Riddims”), which was directed and produced by Howard Jonhson, narrated by Michael “Mikey Dread” Campbell & filmed in 1983 in Jamaica. To those who wrote and composed this hymn more than 30 years ago: wherever you are, thanks for such a marvelous song and lyrics!
