Composition dates: 1: 1963 2: 1953 3: 1952 4: 1962 5: 1952 6: 1952 7: 1952 8: 1954 9: 1954-55 10: 1965 Tracks 1 and 4 recorded in Amsterdam, Holland in 1974. Track 2 was part of the "Project for music for magnetic tape". Tracks 1 to 4 originally released on LP as CRI SD 330. Tracks 6 to 8 first released on this CD. These recordings were made possible by a grant from the National Institute / American Academy of Arts and Letters, which Earle Brown received in 1972. This compact disc has been made possible through the generous support of the Aaron Copland Fund for Music.
