East Bay Rhythm's name may be a bit obscure to those not from the Bay area, but its key members -- James Levi (drums), Paul Jackson (2) (bass), and Bill Summers (percussion) -- were members of Herbie Hancock's legendary band The Headhunters. The group was rounded out by Jorge Santana, Freddie Washington and Butch Haynes.
