Ebrahim "Brian" Isaacs was born September 5th, 1939, in Vrededorp, a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. He began performing at 4 years old as a dancer in local variety shows. In 1955 he joined the travelling song and dance company "African Jazz". In 1956 he joined the "Golden City Dixies" which toured Kenya, Congo, Rhodesia, Tanzania, England, Ireland, then Sweden where many members of the troupe became political refugees. Brian has worked many years for the National Travelling Concerts "Rikskonserter" in Norway and Sweden. He has also made programs for BBC, Irish TV, Swedish and Norwegian television. A TV-program he made was sent by Norway as their entry in the Edinburg Folk Festival in 1969.
