Band, 1995-1999 DE, Berlin
A.k.a. Ec8or A*Class
Ec8or (pronounced as Ecator, an abbreviation of Eradicator which was originally used by Patric as his tag when he used to do graffiti, and later as musical alias as well) was formed by gabba and chiptune artist Patric Catani, and former Lemonbabies member Gina Vaporjieff D'Orio. Ec8or as a band project was formed in 1995, any releases Ec8or was involved with before (incl. "AK-78") are solo works of Patric C. Some tracks released under the Ec8or alias were actually E-De-Cologne tracks, probably supposed for release on Shockwave Recordings. When Patric left the gabba scene they turned up under his new project. The duo released 3 albums from 1995-1999 and have continued to record after the great DHR implosion of the millennium, and still collaborate often, although Patric and Gina are no longer signed to Digital Hardcore Recordings. Patric would later display his dislike of the state the label had been in then and said in an interview: "The fact that all the bands surrounding Atari Teenage Riot just got used for their sellout idea – to have a whole “movement” and “followers” – led to psychological warfare which some people didn't survive. There was no trust anymore at some point and no communication, it was necessary for me to leave that behind." Ec8or is currently on a permanent hiatus although the duo played a one-off gig in Dresden in 2005, and have recently collaborated as the one off project A*class. Patric Catani later became known as Candie Hank, whereas Gina still performs in her other band Cobra Killer with former Shizuo vocalist Annika Trost.
