Ed Tobin

1929-1995

A.k.a. Edward Tobin Jr.

(Born on February 5, 1929 - Died on July 27, 1995) Ed Tobin was a veteran of more than 40 years of record manufacturing. He was considered a master plating technician, responsible for lacquer plating at Greg Lee Plating in Gardena, California. Ed oversaw the production of stampers for AudioQuest, Mobile Fidelity, Classic Records, Acoustic Sounds, Reference Recordings, DCC and many other audiophile and non-audiophile labels. Ed was murdered by his stepson, Frank Pina, on July 27, 1995 while at his trailer home in Fullerton, California. Ed was 66 years old.
