American musician, songwriter, award-winning record producer and engineer, born 25 February 1938, died 19 September 1999 in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. Member of the pop group The Four Preps from 1956 to 1966. Most known for "Tainted Love", a northern soul hit for Gloria Jones, which has been covered many times after Soft Cell's early 1980s version. Cobb worked as either a music producer or a sound engineer for such artists as The Standells, The Lettermen, Steely Dan, Pink Floyd, and Fleetwood Mac.
