Musician of Folk
A.k.a. Edward J. Vucinic
He was a well-known musician who played bass for many years with several notable musicians and bands throughout the Chicagoland area and Northwest Indiana. Most notably he played with Hall of Famers Tony Muselin and John Gornick and the Muselin Continentals. He also played with Steve Kirin Sr. and Joe Kirin Sr. and their Sloboda Orchestra, as well as with Eddie Franciskovich and many others over the years. As part of the music circuit where he was very well known, Ed and wife Mary were also life-long members and active fraternalists in the CFU. Ed was one of the chief sponsors and supporting members of the CFU Jr. Cultural Federation which was organized by current CFU President Bernie Luketich in the mid 60's, when Bernie was the National Secretary of the CFU. Ed brought many conventions, quarterly meetings and CFU Jr. festivals to Chicago and the Arie Crown theater in the last 30 years. And, along with his wonderful wife Mary, should be remembered by thousands of kids and parents across the country for their good deeds and tireless efforts in promoting tambura and the Junior festivals over these past several decades.
