US (born 14 February 1929 in New York City) songwriter ("The Men in My Little Girl's Life", "Nee Nee Na Na Na Na Nu Nu"), composer, producer, author, singer, actor, comedian and publisher, educated at Bryant High School and the Music School Settlement. He was a singer and actor on television and radio, and founded his publishing firm in 1958. Joining ASCAP in 1956, his other popular-song compositions include "Princess", "A Little Dog Cried", "Rock-A-Billy", "Small Sad Sam", "Hootenanny", and "The Way It Was (The Way It Is)". Often associated to the publisher Joy Music, Inc..
