Album US 1902 on Edison Gold Moulded Records label
Pop (Vocal)
From "The Old Homestead" by Denman Thompson. Intro. "Nearer, my God, to Thee", etc. Originally recorded in June, 1898 with Jere Mahoney instead of Harry Macdonough and issued on Edison Records Brown Wax Cylinder in 1898. Re-recorded for the Gold Moulded process in 1902. This copy has an early edge, with the catalog #, Edison's trademark signature and "PATENTED" barely visible in the "runout" near the top of the cylinder.
