Edmundo Abad Flores

*1925 MX

He was born on November 20, 1925 in Mexico, D.F., city in which he has lived all his life; was the fifth child of the marriage formed by Sotero de la Cruz Abad Sánchez and Dolores Flores Montiel. As a result of visits made to record companies, in 1963 he managed to bring his song "Calor de Arena" to the acetate, with Toni Camargo as an interpreter. It became a success in that year. Since then this song has been recorded by several groups and artists. In 1975, its song returned to become a success, now with the group the Sonors. This same theme returned to the taste of the public in 1982, when the group Sonora San Andrés made a magnificent arrangement. He has co-authored with maestro Rafael de Paz and with maestro José Araiza.
