Pointed by Google as one of the 20 most relevant Brazilian artists for 2017 it was with a vibrant and rock album that Ego Kill Talent began the year arriving in the top 50 viral Spotify in the UK, Portugal, Spain and Brazil and gathering more than 6 million plays on the streaming platforms. Formed by Jean Dolabella (drums and guitars – former member of Sepultura), Jonathan Dörr (vocals), Raphael Miranda (drums, bass), Niper Boaventura (guitar, bass), and Theo Van Der Loo (bass, guitars), Ego Kill Talent (an abbreviation of the saying “too much ego will kill your talent”) just returned from their first European tour where they played Download Festival Paris, the legendary Arènes de Nîmes (supporting System of a Down), Melkweg iconic venue in Amsterdam and did a live performance at 3FM (the biggest radio station in Holland). Ego Kill Talent got some very good reviews from the European press. Their live performance gained a 5 “K”s rating from Kerrang UK magazine and compared to big artists like Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains and A Perfect Circle. The Dutch press (Aardschok, 3FM and SmashPress) compared the sound and performance of the band to Foo Fighters, Stone Sour and Royal Blood. The band stayed for five weeks on the 4th position of the Top 50 Viral from Spotify in Brazil and played big festivals such as Lollapalooza - Maximus Festival - Rolling Stone Festival and Planeta Atlantida. EKT is already confirmed for Santiago Gets Louder (Chile) and Rock In Rio. Recorded at Family Mob Studios, in São Paulo, Ego Kill Talent (EKT#2017) was produced by Steve Evetts, who has already worked with names like The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Cure, Giraffe Tongue Orchestra, amongst others. Evetts is also responsible for the mixing of the album, made in his studio, The Omen Room, in Garden Grove, California, except for the track “Try (There Will Be Blood)”, mixed by Cris Simões (at Pacific Studio, in Belo Horizonte, MG). The mastering is by Alan Douches (West Side Studios, in New Windsor, NY), except the track “Try (There Will Be Blood)”, mastered by Rodrigo Deltoro (at DaHouse Audio, in São Paulo, SP). The album is distribuited worldwide in all digital platforms by Ditto Music UK. “Rock, when made with emotion and truth, really touches us. I believe that we have recorded all these feelings in the album”, says Theo Van Der Loo about the messages featured in the album. “All the lyrics, our musical creation, all of it is part of a questioning process.
