The Egon label began life as an offshoot to the printing and publishing company, Egon Publishers Ltd. The label had its own brass band, Egon Virtuosi Brass, a composite group of mainly Salvationist bandsman, who were initially brought together to record neglected Salvation Army repertoire, they also go under the name Egon Virtuosi Band.
