Eilís Máire Boland (née O'Reilly Farrelly) (1917-1970) was an Irish songwriter. She was born in Kingscourt (Doonaree) in County Cavan. Her memories of the town and the nearby lake are contained in two of her most popular songs, 'Doonaree' and 'Ballyhoe'. Other songs she wrote 'A Wee Sprig of Green', 'Christmastime in Ireland', 'Johnny Gray', 'The Old Pig Sty', 'Our Wedding Day', 'I Dream of you', 'The Mountains of Cooley' and 'An Irish Boreen'. Her songs have been recorded by artists including Vera Lynn, Ruby Murray, Daniel O'Donnell and Foster and Allen.
