Ekaterina Novitskaya (b. 1952) is a Russian-Belgian pianist. She studied at the Moscow Conservatory with Lev Oborin. In 1968, Novitskaya won the Queen Elisabeth Competition, one of the most prestigious and challenging competitions in the world. She became the youngest participant and the first woman to win the contest. Yekaterina moved to Belgium in 1978, and debuted as a solo performer in New York in 1985. In 1996, Mstislav Rostropovich organized her tour in Russia, with concerts at Moscow, Saint Petersburg and Nizhni Novgorod.
