Elio Sottoscritti is feverish about electronic music, for him it's much like the rush of discovering gold. The difference is, where others would squander such riches, he's driven to share every ounce of it he finds as an artist and DJ under his moniker Eliogold. Early on he would learn to treasure audio, growing up in the household of a sound engineer father. Being from Florence, Elio would pick up on the traditions of central Italy’s house and techno from exposure to big name clubs and parties like Cocorico' and Fortezza da Basso before taking to the turntables himself. He cites Tenax back home in Florence as his main stomping ground these days and he's developed close ties with its successful residents Philipp and Cole. Balancing his travel experiences chasing this music throughout the world with equal amounts of discovery in the studio, Eliogold has been toiling away at finding the right sounds through which to express himself as an artist producer for years, finally hitting his stride in 2012 and releasing on UK based label Axon Recordings. Today, Elio is making his mark in the deserts of Arizona, collaborating with local DJs like E.android and ST Frequency under the banner of the Chateau Disco movement and club nights. His passion for sound and language has brought him to terms with one of music’s universal truths. "Being a language instructor taught me that there is only one language that needs no translation and that’s music. There is nothing more inspiring than that and that’s what keeps me going." This understanding has shaped Eliogold, a rare and valuable find for any listener who would be so fortunate to uncover.
