J. Elmo Fagg (b. Jun. 28, 1919, d. Feb. 3, 1981), was a Christian gospel vocalist, first with the Lone Star Quartet, along with Jack Taylor. Not long after Blue Ridge Quartet was formed, both Elmo Fagg and Jack Taylor joined The Blue Ridge Quartet. Fagg lead The Blue Ridge Quartet for about 20 years. As a side note, Elmo Fagg's name is mentioned on the album Dead Letter Office in the song "Voice of Harold," which is set to the music of the song "Seven Chinese Brothers," but contains 'lyric' consisting of Michael Stipe reading the liner notes of the back cover of the album The Joy Of Knowing Jesus.
