Els Xerracs formed in 1964 in Barcelona. They only released an EP, that included their most emblematic song: La fulla, that was often understood in a political way ("The golden sleeve will be green again"). The Shadows was one of their most obvious influences. Els Xerracs was formed by Joan Josep Buira, Joan Marull, Santiago Novell, Jordi Barangé and Toti Soler. After their dissolution, Barangé and Soler formed, with Jeanette, the folk-pop band Brenner's Folk, that became Pic-Nic later.
