They were the fully overdubbed or regular masters but with certain instruments and backing vocal channels removed. Elvis' "Harmony Vocal" and the "Organ" overdubs were removed on the original release of Promised Land. The complete "Harmony Vocal" overdub can be found on the Venus bootleg release "Unedited Masters - Stax 1973". Promised Land was remixed when used on the '70's Box' and the BMG 2000 release of 'Promised Land'. Elvis can be heard singing a few lines of Columbus Stockade Blues before Take 4 of Promised Land on 'Essential Elvis Vol. 5'. Your Love's Been A Long Time Coming and There's A Honky Tonk Angel were faded for release by RCA. The complete unedited overdubbed masters can be found on the Venus bootleg release "Unedited Masters - Stax 1973". Your Love's Been A Long Time Coming and There's A Honky Tonk Angel were remixed when used on the BMG 2000 release of 'Promised Land', and Your Love's Been A Long Time Coming has a longer fade out on this release too. Elvis can be heard singing a part of Find Out What's Happening before Take 4 of Your Love's Been A Long Time Coming on 'Essential Elvis Volume 5', but this is edited in from elsewhere in the session - Elvis actually sings a line of A Little Less Conversation before take 4. You can hear the “harmony vocals” and the “organ” very clearly on Take 1 of There's A Honky Tonk Angel on the bootleg "On A Jet To The Promised Land" which were removed from the master on the original release of 'Promised Land'. On ‘Essential Elvis – Rhythm and Country’ they weren’t audible at all on Take 1. In March of 2007 SONY decided to go through all of Elvis' masters and they retransferred everything, remastered all tracks including repairing as many clicks, pops, bad edits and dropouts as they could. They have used these newly mastered recordings on their new releases including budget soundtracks, 'Legacy' releases, the 30 disc 'Complete Elvis Presley Masters' collection and the Franklin Mint package.
