Emerald was a Heavy Metal Band From New Brunswick, New Jersey. They Were Active From 1983 To 1988. There Were Three Lineups Of Emerald: 1st Lineup: Danny Magnanti (Bass, Lead Vocals), Jeff Cavino (Guitar), Giovanni Magnanti (Guitar, Backing Vocals), Alex Sipos (Drums, Percussion) *Short Lived, Minor Hiatus (1983) 2nd Lineup: Danny Magnanti (Bass, Lead Vocals), David Jay (Lead Guitar), Giovanni Magnanti (Guitar, Backing Vocals), Alex Sipos (Drums, Percussion) *Classic Lineup (1983-1986) 3rd Lineup: Danny Magnanti (Bass, Rhythm Guitar, Vocals), "Big" Bill Coleman (Lead Guitar, Keyboards), Peter Wallace (Bass, Vocals), Alex Sipos (Drums, Percussion, Backing Vocals) *Final Lineup, Band Collapsed And Disbanded When Alex Sipos Told Them He Was Going To Leave. (1986-1988) Short-Stint Members- Brian McPete - Guitar (1985, Few Months) Steve And Mick Shuler (Both Guitar, One Show In 1985) Emerald Started Off As A Cover Band Playing In Night Clubs And The Like. They Played With Heavy Metal Groups Such As The Beast (8) And Ritual (29). Soon, They Began Writing Their Own Material. The 2nd Lineup Was The Most Popular And Successful One. They Played Many Big Nightclubs And Parties In Central And North Jersey. They Would Never Perform Out Of State. Once The 3rd Lineup Was Introduced, The Number Of Venues They Played Dropped Dramatically. This Was The Reason Why Alex Sipos Left. After That, The Band Has A Whole (Including Alex Sipos) Decided To Disband. The 2nd Lineup Recorded The Single (With An Unreleased Track), And A Two Track Demo In 1986. The 3rd Lineup Recorded A Two Track Demo In 1987 While Danny Magnanti Was Still The Bass Player. There Was A Big Difference In The Sound Of Emerald Between The 2nd And 3rd Lineup. The 3rd Lineup Was More Mature And Had A Heavier Sound, While The 2nd Lineup Had A More Raw And Cheesy Sound. In 2000, An Alternative Rock Group Named Hatemail (Alex Sipos' Band) Reunited Emerald For Three Songs. They Did One Hard Rock Song And Two Pop Rock Songs. This Featured The 2nd Lineup Minus Giovanni. In 2015, A Small Compilation Was Issued Privately In Hellertown, PA By Drummer Alex Sipos And Local Record Store Gr8soundz. Only 100 Were Pressed. A New Compilation With All Tracks And Demos Is Set For Release Next Year.
