Emergence is an idea that was capsuled by Krishna McKenzie in the year 2006 alongside the French bass player Mishko M'Ba. The other members of the band includes violinist Karthik and on drums it's Rahul Gopal. The band is signed on Bluefrog. Besides continuously touring India, Emergence toured the UK in summer 2008, playing venues across the country. The tour culminated in a number of inspiring performances at Glastonbury, which led to invitations to play at major European festivals in 2009, including Sunrise, Womad, Glastonbury (all 3 in the UK) and Festival de Nyon (France). Post the UK tour, the band was invited to play at the JFK Space Centre (USA), following which they toured few dates around the United States.
