An avant-garde performance ensemble, who specialised in live improvisation, as well as recitals of contemporary composition. Although their LP release includes a Karlheinz Stockhausen work in their repertoire, Ensemble Ex Improviso are generally much closer related in style to the industrial movement of acts like P16.D4, and the more abstract work of Markus Schmickler and Asmus Tietchens. And, incidentally two members: Klaus Hinrich Stahmer and Christoph Wünsch are both also accomplished avant-gardists in their own right.
