When in 1990 Martino Traversa founded the Cultural Association Ensemble Edgard Varèse, no one imagined that one of the most important national contemporary music companies was formed. It was no coincidence that the association was called a precursor of electro-acoustic experience and the inauguration of the Trajectories exhibition was a tribute to Luigi Nono, who was the main supporter of the ensemble. Today, more than twenty years later, this legacy is collected from the new Ensemble Prometeo, which, from its first productions, aims to revitalize and further promote a historically identified research direction, focusing on the experimental music of our time and on Use of new electronic technologies. The activity of the ensemble coincides with that of the Prometeo Foundation with concerts, recordings, seminars, to offer a broader horizon of research in today's music, as well as a vital space for the new generations of composers called to collaborate. The Ensemble Prometeo, directed by Marco Angius, recorded two CDs for Stradivarius in 2012 (Imaginary Landscapes and Sixteen Dances by John Cage) and in 2013 (Pierrot lunaire by Arnold Schönberg and Die Schachtel by Franco Evangelisti).
