Singer of Jazz, Rock, Folk and World
Eric Apoe is a veteran American singer-songwriter and guitarist from Seattle, Washington. His gravelly vocal style has been compared with Tom Waits. His music is based on American folk with strong jazz influences. He has also blended blues and klezmer music into his songs. Apoe spent a number of years touring with Cajun fiddler Doug Kershaw, developing a lifelong passion for American Roots music. In 1979, Apoe was hired as the drummer for folksinger Tim Hardin who passed away the following year. After playing in a number of lesser-known bands Apoe returned to his native Seattle from Los Angeles in 1992. His first solo album, "Songs of Love and Doom," was released in 1996. He has since recorded four more albums with his group Eric Apoe and They and is currently working on a fifth as well as a tribute album to the late Ron Davies.
