Eric Apoe and THEY are a group based in the Seattle, Washington area. They plan an eclectic mix of blend of American and European Roots music, including elements of jazz, blues and klezmer music. The group is led by gravel voiced veteran singer-songwriter Eric Apoe, who has been compared to Tom Waits. Members play a mix of acoustic and electric instruments. In 1997 Eric Apoe's backing band, The Furnace, underwent a number of personnel changes. With the new lineup came a new name, Eric Apoe and THEY.
