Composer of Pop and Jazz
American composer and bandleader. Ernie Golden composed and performed in a variety of styles. He dabbled on Broadway, writing the music for the show Artists and Models in 1930. While his orchestras recorded hits of the era such as "I'm Dancing with Tears in My Eyes," "I Ain't Got Nobody," and "Oriental Moonlight," the material that really gilded Golden's memory are pieces such as "Toy Makers Dream" and novelty material that has found its way onto the set lists at orchestral Christmas pageants as well as concert bands.
