Ernie Lee, a native of Berea, Kentucky was born 12 April 1916 and died 23 May 1991 Ernie Lee got his start in radio back in 1940 when the host of the Plantation Party show, Red Foley, got sick and couldn't perform. The manager of the show picked Ernie out of the audience to take Red's place and he was on his way. He was on that show for over four years. Ernie worked at WLW early in 1947 and a 1948. He did the "Ernie Lee Show" five days a week. He appeared weekly on the WLW Midwestern Hayride. He had a Sunday show, "The Ernie Lee's Omega Show" which was broadcast over 62 southern radio stations on the Mutual Broadcasting network.
