A.k.a. Erwin Schneider
German photographer, working most of his life in Munich. Born August 7th, 1938 near Schwerin/Mecklenburg, Schneider moves to Berlin, Cologne and Munich. In Munich he starts a job as copyist and photographer at the Bavaria Studios. While the production of the movie 'The Vikings' in 1958 he meets Kirk Douglas (2), Tony Curtis (3), Ernest Borgnine and Janet Leigh due to the fact, he has to clear his domicile in order to accomodate the Hollywood stars. On this occasion he talks to Kirk Douglas (2) about the situation. This results in the permission of taking photographs of Kirk Douglas (2) and his colleagues. After the images are shot, Kirk Douglas (2) buys these photographs for a big sum of money. This is the start of a big career as photographer of many celebrities as The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Conny Froboess, Rex Gildo or Tom Jones. Also he is regularly photographer for German teenage magazine BRAVO (15). Schneider is still resident in Munich today and is running his own agency Schneider Press.
