Born out of various live projects involving Chris Conway and the Freeman brothers, "Improv Electronic" sessions and Impromptu Electronic, Chis declared "this is starting to sound like a real band" and so it was, with Simon Styring on Frippertronic guitar, an improv outfit that knew no bounds, except probably where or when to stop - hence the name Escape Route.
