Composer / Producer of Dance
A.k.a. Stefan Knauthe Steven Kaye
Esky, a Berlin electronic musician, composer, producer and engineer, has been making records for over 15 years. He worked with many well established dance- and techno- producers, and was involved in several German chart entry productions. In 2002 he came into contact with a range of other influences, exploring electronica, ambient and other more experimental music genres, which broadened and gained his musical horizons and totally changed his musical preferences. From this point he transferred his skills into more downtempo flavoured tunes, with a warm basic vibe, lush synthesizer pads along with distorted, intensive atmospheres and beautiful, slightly off pitched melodies. Adding a range of self-contained, organic beats and percussion, he found an inspiring way to express his moods and feelings, experiences and ideas. All this led into composing, performing and producing his first full-length solo album named "For Ritualised Consumption". It contains 13 eclectic and addictive compositions, showing Esky's maturing process towards an individual sonic architecture with carefully invented sounds and textures.
