A.k.a. Eugenio Valente
Since the beginning of his career, EUGENE has been working on an impressive number of projects spanning from rock to techno, from multimedia installations to film soundtracks. All of these projects have given Eugene the opportunity to perform almost all over the world. Eugene releases his first single "Dior DNA" with UdU Records in 2006, produced by italian new-wave pioneer Garbo, while he keeps offering his producer/performer skills to many italian artists (both underground and mainstream) and even working in 2010 at Britannia Row Studios (the very well-known Pink Floyd headquarters). In 2013 Eugene produces Paolo Prevosto's electronic album "Simulakrum Lab" (Rustblade Records), featuring italian prog stars Claudio Simonetti and Fabio Pignatelli. Eugene releases his maxi-single "Promenade" in 2014 (IDA Records), followed by a videoclip directed by Alessandro Bavari. "Promenade" has been recorded in various studios between Rome, London and Berlin, and finally mastered by Mike Marsh (Depeche Mode, Chemical Brothers, Moby, Oasis). In 2015 Eugene produces Magdalena Hill's "Lavender Braid" film soundtrack, with Gary Hill's supervision in his studio in Seattle. In June 2016 Eugene performs at Metropolis Studios in London, presented by legendary UK-based label Wall Of Sound. In the second half of 2017 Eugene works on italo-disco king Gazebo’s album “Italo by Numbers” (Softworks) as programmer and synth-man. In october he flies again to Seattle to produce, arrange and mix Magdalena Hill’s EP “The Air Between”. On 7th March 2018 Denis The Night & The Panic Party release their "Cosmic Youth" EP (Wall Of Sound), featuring a remixed version by Eugene. On 11th May 2018 Eugene produces the single "Waiting For You" along with Lisbon Kid's Danny De Matos. The single is released on Wall Of Sound and premiered by Visage's Rusty Egan on his radio show "The Electronic Family Tree" on Artefaktor Radio. On November 7 Eugene releases his new single "Radiowave" (Discipline / Wall Of Sound / Out Vogue) feat. Garbo & Andy (Bluvertigo). The track immediately peaks at #1 on iTunes Alternative Chart in Italy, getting good response from radio audience and music press. The Electricity Club writes: "Radiowave plays with the propulsive neon-lit sax-tinged aesthetics of the synthwave sub-genre, but adds authentic Italo elements and distorted feral vocal toplines." The accompanying video directed by the American videoart pioneer Gary Hill makes use of real analogue processing with no computer-generated effects, creating a futuristic visual impact. Mike Marsh declares on his facebook profile: "Radiowave is quality retro electronica". On November 27 Eugene opens for The KVB at Largo Venue (Rome). Many gigs are yet to be announced, following "Radiowave" vinyl release on February 18, 2019.
