Eugene Wolf has taken the stories of growing up in the South with his grandmother and, using the songs that she encouraged him to sing, has made a show of humor and power. Seen through the eyes of his grandmother, his journey from the inspiring Valleydale Pigs through Loretta Lynn, Petula Clark and Joni Mitchell to the far reaches of a trance party in the foothills of the Sahara Desert, explores the notion that our personal stories are where are power lies. And, finally, it is the music of this life that takes us back to the place we call home.
Eugene is an actor at Barter Theatre and has created the role of A. P. Carter in the original production KEEP ON THE SUNNY SIDE. He was a member of the New Hillbilly band Brother Boys.
